About Us
The Melbourne City North Business Association is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting, connecting and showcasing local businesses. We are run by local businesses, for local businesses and are united by a shared passion for the precinct. Established in 2021 after endorsement by the City of Melbourne, the Association represents a key emerging precinct with the Melbourne CBD and aims to fill the final gap with City of Melbourne trader associations.
What we provide?
How do we celebrate and advocate our local area, it's identity, and culture to both a local and international audience?
Fostering pride in a location and community is a vital task the MCNBA will need to engage in. This work will help build positive sentiment both within the Association membership based, whilst also attracting new members and investment into both the Association and local area.
How we deliver?
We are funded by our members and through the City of Melbourne. We also generate income through events and initiatives. This money is used to advance our mission and to benefit all members.
Outside of this, all of our activities are developed and delivered by our executive committee, who volunteer their time for the Association in addition to running their own businesses.
Our mission
Our mission is to bring together various stakeholders including business owners, landlords, service providers, and community organisations to:
- Be a cultural bridge and support network that helps business owners to transition into Melbourne and to find the support they need to create successful commercial outcomes.
- Lead the transformation of the precinct, creating a new vibrant destination that is based on a thriving night-time economy.
- Develop resources and information that enables businesses to grow and thrive. • Lead precinct marketing that attracts new customers and showcases our members. • Advocate for the precinct, winning grants and funding to support our activities.
- Connect members through events that generate ideas, share knowledge, and increases the resilience of our community.
